Part A: Flood risk assessment
This part analyses how impairments to infrastructure designed to drain low-altitude areas in the downstream part of the Po river basin increases the flood risk and amplifies the ensuing economic damage. The analysis is intended to inform the multi-stakeholder partnership (MSP), rooted in an inter-regional civil protection agreement, and negotiated among a multitude of public and private institutions.
Part B Assessment of drought risk and impacts on agriculture
This part of the report addresses risk to water security in the entire Po River Basin District (PRBD) area. The multi-sectoral partnership (MSP-D) this document intends to inform consists of a forum of major water users in PRBD, assembled in the Drought Steering Committee (DSC), initiated and presided by the Po River Basin Authority (PRBA) in May 2003 amidst a severe water crisis.
