From 14 to 18 March 2015, ENHANCE project partners actively contributed to the third UN Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in Sendai, Japan. Partners were invited to official sessions, side events, and informal discussions to debate on the state of play of the disaster risk reduction in Europe, on the insurance industry, the economics of DRR, and to underline the positive impact partnerships have on risk reduction and risk resilience.
Everyday short ‘letters’ pinpointed to the current debate and highlighted relevant proposals or findings that were discussed in Sendai. The herewith document compiles all nine letters and provides reflections on the Sendai Framework for Action on Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 targets.
