ENHANCE press contact
Questions from journalists about the ENHANCE project were handled by its communication partner Arctik, a Belgian environmental communication firm that also issued its press releases and hosted its introductory video.
Press questions about ENHANCE went to a team address at Arctik, the project’s communication partner. Cédric Hananel was the Arctik contact associated with the press desk. In the press releases of 2016, Riikka Pohjankoski of ARCTIK SPRL was named as media contact.
Arctik was a partner in the consortium, listed with its base in Belgium. In the partners list it appears as ARCTIK SPRL and, alongside EBN, the Innovation Network, as “Arctik - Communications” (partners list). Its role covered most of what the public saw of the project:
- the introductory video released in January 2015 and hosted on Arctik’s Vimeo channel (project video);
- the six e-news alerts sent between July 2014 and March 2016 (e-news alerts);
- the press release of 10 November 2016 on the final book (Brussels press release);
- the press release of November 2016 on heatwave plans in Belgium and the Netherlands, issued in English, French and Dutch (heatwave study).
Cédric Hananel was also one of the five signatories of the ninth Letter from Sendai in March 2015, the joint reflection on the targets of the new framework (Letters from Sendai no. 9). Riikka Pohjankoski was named, together with Robin Nicolai of HKV Consultants, on the 2016 summary of the Port of Rotterdam case (Port of Rotterdam).
Because Arctik sat inside the consortium rather than working as an outside agency, the same partner wrote for journalists, for policymakers and for the readers of the e-news alerts.
